The ELESA+GANTER Direct Drive Indicator Series covers the full range of shaft position indication from compact mechanical counters to programmable electronic displays and cable-free wireless monitoring with PLC integration. All variants use a direct-drive mechanism where the indicator mounts directly onto the shaft via a precision-reamed bushing. The series is designed for machine builders, automation integrators, and precision equipment manufacturers who need reliable positional feedback in packaging, food processing, printing, and pharmaceutical machinery.
Across the series, indicators are available in four standard case colours: C1 - RAL 7021, C2 - RAL 2004 C3 - RAL 7035 and C55 - RAL 5005. To suit diverse machine architectures, display orientations can be configured as front-facing or inclined to optimize readability for the operator.

The DD50 is a compact 3-digit counter weighing 22 grams with a Ø10 mm bushing. The DD51 steps up to a 4-digit counter with a Ø14 mm bushing and an optional integrated spindle locking mechanism (LB variant) to prevent accidental adjustment under vibration. The DD52R provides the widest mechanical reading range with a 5-digit counter and a Ø20 mm bushing.
These mechanical variants feature high-resistance polyamide-based technopolymer housings with zinc-plated steel bushings. While standard models offer high protection, IP67-sealed executions are available as a special execution for wash-down or contaminated environments.
The DD51-E and DD52R-E feature high-contrast LCD displays with 5 or 6 digits. A key advantage of these electronic variants is their IP67 protection rating, which comes as a standard feature, providing total protection against dust and the effects of immersion in water.
The DD51-E-RF and DD52R-E-RF introduce wireless RF data transmission via the UC-RF control unit. These networked indicators enable machine-wide position monitoring and safety interlocking. For advanced automation, RF indicators are highly versatile as they can be programmed directly via the PLC. This allows for target-position setting and production cycle safety checks without manual intervention.
All Direct Drive Series indicators share a direct-drive mounting principle, consistent housing geometry, multi-position display orientation (inclined or front-facing), and compatibility with a shared accessory ecosystem including MDX knobs, RB reduction sleeves, and BSA spindle locking bases. This allows integration across diverse machine architectures without requiring housing or mounting redesign when upgrading from mechanical to electronic or wireless variants.
